Sunday’s Golden Globes brought more than accolades forAvatar: There are a whole new slew of celeb looks to emulate and examples to learn from. What stuck me was the number of actresses wearing red lipstick, which is a shortcut to glamour. When done right, that is. Christina Hendricks fromMad Men really nailed it.

Granted, she’s a knockout to start with stunning red hair and curves to die for. What I like about her Golden Globes look is that she kept the rest of her makeup simple with lined, shimmering eyes. Her peaches and cream complexion is healthy and not overdone–if you look closely, you can almost see a smattering of freckles. Her lipstick has a bit of a rust hue to it, which picks up her hair color. Her light gold dress doesn’t fight with the rest of the look for attention. An all around A+!
