Suspended railway traffic could not be restored

NAWABSHAH : The suspended railway traffic after goods train derailment could not be restored and the stranded passengers passed night in misery, Aaj News reported.

According to the details, the railways track was damaged when ten bogies of Karachi bound Goods Train Wazir Mension derailed near Nawabshah station.

The goods train derailment resulted in blockade of up and down track while some passengers trains were stranded at Nawabshah, Sarhari and other stations.

The incident was immediately communicated to Divisional Headquarter from where cranes had been despatched to clear the track.

Jawans of Indus Rangers immediately rushed to site of derailment and started the rescue work. Meanwhile Shalimar Express and Hazara Express heading for up country were abondoned at Nawabshah and Sarhari Stations till clearance was given.
