LAHOREĀ : At least 36 people including women and children have been killed and more than 150 others injured in twin blasts at Moon market in Iqbal Town Lahore on Monday, Aaj News reported.
The channel quoted SSP Lahore, Chaudhry Shafiq that at least 20 have been killed while IG Punjab, Tariq Saleem Dogar said that at least 30 people killed meanwhile Commissioner Khusro Pervaiz saying the death toll of 36 and more than 150 others injured in the incident.
More than 40 shops were affected in the blast. Dozens of vehicles and motorbikes were also damaged.
Rescue 1122 teams have reached at the site of the incident and started relief activities. The injured are being rushed to Services hospital, Jinnah Hospital and other nearby hospitals. The injured included children and women also. The condition of several injured is said to be serious.
Nazim Lahore, Mian Aamir Mehmood appealed blood grant from people.
Emergency have been declared in all the hospitals of the city.
Power supply to the area has been suspended after the blast. Nothing is so far clear about the nature of the blasts.
Moon market is a commercial centre of Iqbal Town, Lahore, where shoppers come in large numbers.
